Exploring the Science of Clinical Psychology Through the Lens of the Nervous System
Mission & Philosophy
Our mission is to explore human emotion and cognition using psychophysiological methods. By examining healthy individuals and those who struggle with anxiety and depression, we seek to illuminate the pathways from fundamental science to practical clinical solutions.
Method
We use a range of psychophysiological measures including high-density electroencephalogram (EEG), skin conductance response, facial muscle activity (EMG), heart rate and eye-tracking/pupillometry to measure human emotion (symptoms), emotional regulation, and more.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
We embrace individuals of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences including based on race, ethnicity, color, national origin, sex, disability, religion, age, gender, gender identity, disability, height, marital status, political persuasion, sexual orientation, veteran status, or weight.

Research Areas
Cognitive Control
The process by which we are able to utilize information and adjust behavior in order to meet current goals.
Error Monitoring
The process of recognizing when errors occur and adjusting performance to prevent future errors.
Emotional Regulation
Our ability to manage and regulate our own emotions. This has been shown to have great implications on our health.
